The Obama Presidency Will Be a Disaster

Right now, I am calling it: the Obama presidency will be a disaster, partly because of the legacy Bush left him, and the errors that he will make on his own, namely continuing to hand out money in order to “stimulate” the economy, as well as continuing the farcical “War on Terror” that Bush started, and will never end until people realize it is just an attempt to expand America’s control in Eurasia. Admittedly, I don’t think the ailing economy will be Barack’s fault, though social spending programs are likely to make things worse in the future.

Hail to the thief?

  1. Given that Obama ran on a platform of change from Bush’s policies, it’s a bit early to come to that conclusion, which appears to be based on the assumption that Obama will continue the policies he ran against. Let’s see what he does.

  2. I also think it is a bit early and more than a bit cynical …..he is still better than the alternative don’t you think?

  3. Way too early to call it, Brett, way too early. We don’t know what his cabinet is going to look like yet.

  4. Magik, Will, Locutus: Too early to call? I don’t think so. Based on those two issues alone, one can easily predict that President Obama will have a hard time in office. Continuing a perpetual war where there is no real way to win? A worldwide recession?

It doesn’t matter whose fault it is, but unless Obama is indeed the Messiah, he can’t get us out of the mess we’re in. He’d help if we got rid of the War on Terror, but the problem still is the economy, and no president can fix that. Thus, with the worldwide economy stagnating, Obama’s presidency will not be a good one, though it has more to do with the impossible hand he was dealt.

The fact of the matter is that Obama’s presidency will be a success in my eyes if he doesn’t make things worse, which is possible, but still unlikely.

  5. Am glad you said that about him possibly being the Messiah Leap….did not want to risk that on an atheist’s blog [um tiny joke in case you couldn’t tell]

You sure are right in that he has his hands full.

  6. “I don’t think the ailing economy will be Barack’s fault, though social spending programs are likely to make things worse in the future.”

The economy is definitely not Obama’s fault (last time I checked he wasn’t running Wall Street or the Pentagon).

As for social spending making things worse… two words: New Deal.

  7. Three words for you: World War II.
